Goals
This session is practice for the midterm on Tuesday, February 16. By the end, you should know where you stand on:
- Describing a set of scores: mean, median, SS, σ̂ and z
- Areas under the normal curve, and the sampling distribution of M
- The four steps with z and with t, plus g and a confidence interval
- The wording: parameter or estimate, maintain or reject
Before class
- No new reading. Bring a calculator, and look back over the try-its in the slides for Topics 1 to 8.
- The midterm covers Chapters 1 to 9 (Topics 1 to 8). It’s open book: bring any print materials, including your own notes. A calculator is the only device you can use. See the syllabus for the details.
